“Pressure Mounts On President Cyril Ramaphosa As Calls Grow Louder For Him To Stop ‘Hiding Behind Courts’ And Face A Full Parliamentary Impeachment Inquiry

President Cyril Ramaphosa is once again at the centre of political controversy after fresh calls emerged urging him to allow the parliamentary impeachment inquiry to continue instead of trying to challenge the process in court.

The explosive debate erupted after reports claimed Ramaphosa had been advised to stop delaying tactics and allow Parliament to investigate the matter openly and transparently.

Critics argue that if the President has nothing to hide, he should welcome the inquiry and clear his name publicly instead of fighting the process through legal channels.

Supporters of Ramaphosa, however, insist that he has every constitutional right to challenge procedures he believes are flawed or politically motivated.

The controversy has reignited fierce national debate around accountability, constitutional democracy and whether South Africa’s leaders are truly answerable to the people.

Opposition voices say the situation is damaging public trust and creating the impression that powerful politicians can avoid scrutiny, while ANC supporters accuse rivals of weaponising impeachment processes for political gain ahead of future elections..

Social media exploded almost immediately, with thousands of South Africans divided between those demanding transparency and those defending the President against what they call coordinated political attacks.

One court battle… one impeachment inquiry… and now the whole country is watching closely.
