Political tides in Roan Constituency appear to be shifting after 31-year-old Isaac Pomboloka delivered a shocking landslide victory in the UPND district elections.

The youthful aspiring MP secured an impressive 64% of the votes from district leaders in Luanshya, emerging as the clear favorite to represent the party in Roan Constituency ahead of the upcoming elections.

Justus Bwalya, 55, came in second with 29% of the votes, while incumbent MP and recent UPND defector Joel Chibuye suffered a major political setback after managing only 7% support.

The results have sparked debate within political circles, with many viewing the outcome as a strong message from party structures demanding fresh leadership and youthful energy in Roan.

UPND district officials have since expressed confidence in Isaac Pomboloka, who is now widely expected to be adopted as the party’s official candidate for Roan Constituency
