MWIIMBU DONATES BOREHOLES WORTH K240 000 PERSONAL CASH

MONZE Central Member of Parliament, Jack Mwiimbu, has successfully financed the drilling of eight boreholes in Monze District, with the water points already completed.

The Two-hundred and Forty-thousand project aims to benefit communities in Manungu, Freedom B and Chisekesi.

Mwiimbu states that the project was undertaken to ensure that people in the peri-urban areas of the District stop drinking water from wells, which puts them at a risk of contracting Cholera.

Meanwhile, Mwiimbu has appealed to the public and the Local Authority to ensure that all open Wells are buried so that no one draws water from them.

And Mayaba Ward Councilor, Robson Mayambo, has commended the gesture by Mwiimbu, noting that it is not easy for an individual to fund such an undertaking.

He has further urged Headmen and other prominent figures from the benefiting communities not to charge people who draw water from the source as the boreholes are a gift meant to benefit all.
