ZESCO MD ON FORCED LEAVE PENDING RETIREMENT
The Board of ZESCO has sent ZESCO Managing Director, Victor Mapani on forced leave pending the expiration of his contract next month.
MAPANI was given the letter today.
The Board cited gross incompetence and failure to manage the national power crisis as the reason for Mapani’s removal.
But Mapani has vowed to fight on using UPND cadres he gave hefty contractors and some State House aides to fight the Board’s decision.
President Hichilema has shown relactance to renew the 3-year contract of the grossly incompetent Mapani.
In June the Board fired Mapani but he refused to leave his office telling the Board that he was hired by the President and he couldn’t be fired by any other authority.
