ZAMBIA’S MEDAL HOPES REST ON SAMUKONGA’S SHOULDERS.

Zambia’s only hope for a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Muzala Samukonga, will take to the field today in the 400 metres.

The talented athlete will compete in the 400 meters event today, Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 19:05 Zambia time at the iconic Stade De France.

Samukonga will also represent Zambia in the 4 x 400 meters relay, alongside Kennedy Luchembe, David Mulenga, Patrick Nyambe, Thomson Mbewe, and Sitali Kakene.

However, the sprinter remains focused on his goal, revealing that his ultimate dream is to clinch gold and make his country proud.

National Team Coach Douglas Kalembo has expressed confidence in the team’s preparedness, stating that the athletes are ready for the challenge ahead.

Kalembo says the team’s spirit is high, and they are looking forward to representing Zambia with pride and determination.

He has called on everyone to rally behind the Athletics Team, the only Team Zambia sport left in competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This is contained in a statement posted on the National Olympic Committee of Zambia’s (NOCZ) Facebook page.
