ZAMBIA POLICE THANK CITIZENS FOR SUPPORT AS OPEN DAY COMMEMORATED

The Zambia Police has thanked citizens for their continued support, trust and cooperation in the service as they strive to maintain law and order.

The sentiment comes as the Service commemorates Zambia Police Open Day on 4th March, 2026, under the theme “peaceful elections, our shared responsibility.”

In a message on the eve of the event, Inspector General of Police, Graphel Musamba, noted that the theme speaks directly to the heart of Zambia’s democracy as the country approaches elections in August, 2026.

Musamba stated that more than a slogan, the theme is a timely call to action, a reminder that peace, security, and stability are not the responsibility of the Police alone, rather a collective duty.

He explained that community policing initiatives across the country, including community crime prevention and control associations, have shown firsthand how collaboration strengthens security and prevents crime before it occurs.

Musamba reaffirmed that the Police remains committed to transparency, accountability, and service excellence.
