VETERAN COACH DIES
By Virginia Chilongo
Veteran football coach, Fordson Kabole has died.
Commonly called ‘Bob Moore’ amongst his peers, Kabole was Chipolopolo Assistant Coach to then Head Coach, Ian Porterfield, when the newly reconstituted Zambia National Team after the 1993 Gabon air disaster, lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the 1994 AFCON finals.
Kabole was also the last title winning coach for Nchanga Rangers in 1998.
Many also remember the 77-year-old for his time as Power Dynamos Head Coach where he guided the team to a Duper League victory in 2011.
He returned to the club as caretaker coach before resigning in 2019 due to what he described as frustration from club management.
