UPND member, Mwangala Ngalande awarded K1.4m for false imprisonment
MWANGALALA Nkonde Ngalande, a member of the United Party for National Development (UPND), was in 2022 awarded K1.450 million in compensation for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
Ngalande was accused of attempting to assassinate former president Edgar Lungu and had sued the State for K5 million in 2022.
According to a consent judgment dated December 28, 2022, the State agreed to pay Ngalande K1.450, 000 and cover legal costs of K300, 000. He was represented by Mushipe and Associates.
