UKA leaders have failed to provide leadership – Saboi
NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) faction president Saboi Imboela says Harry Kalaba’s Citizens First (CF)’s withdrawal from the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) is a good step because of failed leadership in the group.
And UPND Alliance chairperson Charles Milupi says he doesn’t see the opposition alliances holding because they are “a mixture of toxic individuals”.
In an interview, Ms Imboela accused UKA chairperson Sakwiba Sikota and his vice Chishala Kateka of failure to provide leadership in the alliance.
“For me, I think it’s a good step in the right direction. We need leadership in the opposition, generally,” she said.
“And I think the failure of UKA to announce the flag-bearer, for example, is a failure to give direction to the opposition in the country. Because you told the country that you are going to have a flag-bearer by 31st March,” she said.
