SANITY COMING TO ZAMMSA – MUCHIMA
NEWLY-APPOINTED Minister of Health Elijah Muchima has assured citizens and cooperating partners that Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) will be combed and sanity restored following the saga.
Over 60 containers with US$ 24 million worth of essential medicines and supplies imported from Egypt were diverted to J&J private warehouse in Lusaka instead of ZAMMSA’s central warehouse.
This lead to the suspension of ZAMMSA director general Victor Nyasulu. Speaking to journalists yesterday, Dr Muchima said, “First and foremost that’s my task, ZAMMSA, we are going to comb it, we want to know the truth, what happened,”.
