Princes Kasune Elected Unanimously as Chairperson for Regional Parliamentary Model Laws Oversight Committee
Zambia’s Minister of Justice Princess Kasune was elected as Chairperson for Regional Parliamentary Model Laws Oversight Committee for SADC-Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF).
The committee is constituted by all Chairpersons of all committees of SADC-PF and elected her unopposed for 2024 to 2026 after being proposed by Angola and seconded by almost all the Chairpersons of the 15 SADC Countries for the SADC Parliamentary Forum Committees.
Meanwhile, Zambia has signed, as the 11th SADC Member State, the Agreement amending the SADC Treaty to transform the SADC Parliamentary Forum into a SADC Parliament. Kasune signed the historical Agreement in Luanda Angola on the sidelines of the 55th Plenary Session for SADC-PF.
