PRESIDENT HICHILEMA URGES ZAMBIAN TROOPS IN CAR TO REMAIN PROFESSIONAL, STEADFAST

Republican President and Commander -in- Chief of the Defence Force, Mr Hakainde Hichilema has urged the Zambian Battalion (ZAMBATT IX) currently deployed in the Multi Dimensional Integrated Stibilisation Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA) to remain professional and steadfast while in the mission area.

President Hichilema says he is happy that his troops serving in MINUSCA have remained resilient and steadfast just like other Battalions that preceded them.

Delivering his message to Zambian troops in Bria through Commander Zambia Army, Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi, President Hichilema urged the troops to continue lifting the Zambian flag high, until the end of their stipulated duration in the mission.

President Hichilema urged the troops to desist from engaging into any activities which might dent the good reputation of Zambia. He urged the troops to uphold utmost discipline.

And Commander Zambia Army assured the Zambian peacekeepers that Command is doing everything possible to address the challenges faced in the mission area.

Meanwhile, ZAMBATT IX troops, through 2Lt Felistus Mwenda, expressed gratitude to Command for the visit aimed at addressing troops’ welfare and challenges, and pledged continued commitment in the implementation of the MINUSCA mandate.
