PRESIDENT HICHILEMA CALLS FOR ACTION TO COMBAT CHOLERA

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says it is time for action to completely combat Cholera,
a bacterial disease which causes severe diarrhoea and dehydration.

Speaking this this afternoon when he visited Heroes Stadium which is the national Cholera Treatment Centre, President Hichilema said
some of the measures government will introduce will be hard to swallow but will be necessary if this disease is to be eradicated.

“It is time for action to completely obliterate this disease is now. We appeal to all citizens to play their part. Some of the measures the government will introduce will be hard to swallow but will be necessary if this disease is to be eradicated,” President Hichilema said.

President Hichilema conveyed his condolences to families who have lost their loved ones from the pandemic and wished a quick recovery to patients who are admitted in various health centres across the country.

The Head of State saluted frontline health personnel who are working tirelessly and courageously to save lives.

The President acknowledged and appreciated various local and international partners who have come on board to support government in fighting Cholera.

President Hichilema called on citizens to keep safe and maintain good hygiene adding that government will do its part to combat Cholera.
