In 2021 the Zambian people built a momentum on one Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND and the biggest theme was “Bally will fix it”, we saw across the country people wearing the t-shirts “Bally will fix it”.
This is a man who raised the hope for the Zambian people it was looking very simple to preside over the affairs of the country, this man and UPND condemned everything which the PF did and he presented himself like it was just a simple matter.
In Bemba they say i’nganda ushilalamo baikumbwa umutenge meaning you see something from the outside and looks very nice but you don’t know what is inside
When PF government came into power they embarked on amending the constitution and one of the biggest contentious issues was 50+1 and the running mate, we had too many constitutional review commission and all of them were scared of introducing 50+1 and the running mate but they agreed on the 5 year periodic term, and as an anonymous source i want to take this opportunity to give credit to President Edgar Chagwa Lungu when he won the election in 2015 the first thing he did was to give the Zambian people the 50+1 in the constitution and the running mate, this changed the landscape of the Zambian politics.
In 1991 Zambian people returned to Plural politics which is multi partisim this means let the people govern ,Zambia as a country we have established a governing system, this system means that the whole 20 million Zambian people are share holders in the Governance system of this country.
We the Zambian people have agreed to any person ascending to the office of the president he\she shall be subject to the 5 year term in the office, then the 20 million share holders will review his/her performance either to extend their contract for the 5 year contract or to fire them through an election, anything being established whether a project or something else it’s for the country, it cannot be attached with an individual that’s the way our Governance system works, they are certain things which Dr Kaunda left because they didn’t belong to him which he started but left and the Late Fredrick Chiluba took over ,Chiluba started HIPC economical adjustment program which was achieved during Mwanawasa’s first year in the office .
Mwanawasa started a very vibrant program in Agriculture and mines but unfortunately he died along the way his programs and part of the programs were completed by Rupiah Bwezani Banda .
President Rupiah Banda started alot of developmental programs and the enconomy was doing very well because the country witnessed a lot of money in circulation, business expanded, agriculture improved and a bumper harvest of Maize was achieved.
In 2011 the stake holders who are the Zambians evaluated the MMD by what our constitution dictates and they didn’t renew their contract through an election which our constitution demands .
PF and Micheal Chilufya Sata were elected into power, President Sata completed all the projects which MMD and Rupiah Banda left in the country ,in 2021 per constitutional requirements we held elections, the Zambian people who are the stake holders decided to fire the PF through an election after being in the government for 2 consecutive terms which is 5 years per term, there were a lot of projects President Lungu had embarked on he didn’t start saying No! Or saying the 5 year term is too small I need to increase it because Zambia as a country does not belong to the former President alone it belongs to the 20 million Zambians ,he had to respect what the constitution dictates.
Today there is a useless and unprogressive idea from the people who do not want to progress bringing a very useless idea of changing the presidential tenure of office from 5 years to 7 years .
First of all this country does not belong to an individual,this country belongs to the 20 million Zambians and these are the major stake holders of the affairs of this country when people offer themselves to run the highest office of this land as the president the employers are Zambians and whatever the program his doing ,he is doing on behalf of the Zambian people, there is no any attachment with an individual, just as you have been employed into any institution there are conditions of service,the employer can only extend your staying in that job which depends on your performance.
President Hakainde Hichilema Zambian people employed him for 5 years for whatever program he is doing for this country it has got nothing to do with his personal achievement it’s for the Zambian people this has to be made very clear to him just as others have come and left ,Zambian people had only employed him for 5 years and of this term the employee will review his performance either to reconsider to renew his term or to fire him through an election so the issue of talking about 5 years cannot finish your program ,this program is not for an individual but for the country that’s why people will come and go in every position while Zambia shall remain the same.
It’s very important for the people who are occupying constitutional offices that they should not take it personal, those are institutional offices which belong to the country ,they are temporal ,staying in those offices is about performance.
This is the biggest lesson to the Zambian people that we should stop evaluating people’s wisdom through the wealth or the money they have that’s why the wise say money will never be their measurements of wisdom because some people who have money through hard-work while others through witchcraft, stealing and devious means because when you see them outside they are rich but you don’t know what is inside, that’s why they say Wisdom comes from God because it’s not everybody who has got money that can be a leader .
Zambian people are patiently waiting for 2026 ,people are going a number of days without food ,no income , businesses have been closed but the only hope they are remaining with is God.
We would like to appeal to the youths to start listening to their guardians because they have experience.It is important to listen to your parents because they are your second God ,they brought you into this world.
We have useless people like Stanley Mhango starting to advance a useless agenda of amending the presidential tenure from 5 years to 7 years because he has squandered funds, there is actually need to find out where he comes from because in Zambia we do not have Mhango all of them come from Chitipa and karonga in Malawi ,you can go all over the tumbuka kingdoms you cannot find Mhango in Zambia .
