POLITICS TRUMPS KINDNESS:SDA PASTOR REJECTS  HON GREYFORD MONDE’S DONATION

By Barotseland Watchdog Reporter in Monze

A shocking incident unfolded in Monze yesterday, where Hon Greyford Monde, a respected elder of the Seventh Day Adventist church, had his generous donation rejected by the union President, Dr. Munyumbwe.

Hon. Monde, who was passing through Monze on his way from Livingstone, was impressed by the massive turnout of 35,000 Dorcas mothers at the church’s rally and decided to donate 10 cattle to bless them with a meal.

However, Pastor, Dr. Munyumbwe packed the Holy Spirit, refused to accept the donation, citing that President Hakainde Hichilema would be visiting the event today to make a similar donation of 10 cattle, and accepting Monde’s donation would be seen as “competition” with the President.

Sources close to the matter revealed that the rejection may have been motivated by Monde’s political affiliation with the Patriotic Front (PF) party, which may have been perceived as a threat to the President’s moment.

The rejection of Monde’s donation has sparked outrage and disappointment among church members and the wider community. Many have questioned the church’s decision, citing that it goes against the principles of kindness and generosity that the church preaches.

“Why would the church reject a donation from one of its own members who is also a Church Elder, simply because of his political affiliation?” asked one church member. “

This incident has left a bad taste in our mouths and has raised questions about the church’s priorities.”

The incident has also highlighted the challenges of navigating politics and faith in Zambia. As the church continues to grapple with the complexities of its role in society, many are left wondering if the pursuit of political agendas has taken precedence over the values of kindness and compassion.

As one church member in Monze put it, “The left hand should not know what the right hand is doing, but in this case, it seems like the left hand is dictating what the right hand can and cannot do.”

BWD’s comment: We are so disappointed about this issue and we pray that God humbles this Pastor.
