PF WOMEN’S LEAGUE APPEAL FOR MORE PARDONS FROM PRESIDENT HH
The Patriotic Front Women’s League is appealing to President Hakainde Hichilema to extend further leniency to incarcerated former leaders following the recent pardon of former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba.
PF Deputy National Chairlady for the Women’s League, Kavumbu Hakachima Hachilonde, has commended the President’s decision, describing it as an act of statesmanship that has resonated positively across the political divide.
Mrs. Hakachima urged the Head of State to consider granting similar compassion to other jailed former leaders, including former Kawambwa MP Nickson Chilangwa, former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo and former Infrastructure Minister Ronald Chitotela.
She emphasized that these men are not just political figures but also fathers and community leaders whose continued absence is being felt deeply by their families and constituents.
Mrs. Hakachima appealed to President Hichilema to consider the timing of their plea, coming as it does during the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Easter.
Mrs. Hakachima also expressed faith in the President’s leadership and called on him to favourably consider the appeal in the interest of national healing and democratic growth.
