Opposition members aligned with UPND jostle for position of Minister of Foreign Affairs
Patriotic Front renegade MPs and MMD President Nevers Mumba are said to be heavily lobbying State House staff Levy Ngoma and Special Assistant for Legal Affairs, Christopher Mundia to influence President Hakainde Hichilema to appoint them as new Foreign Minister.
The position became vacant after Kapiri Mposhi MP, Stanley Kakubo resigned after being embroiled in a second cash scandal.
Those jostling for the position include Mafinga MP, Robert Chabinga, Kantanshi MP, Anthony Mumba, and Kanchibiya MP, Sunday CDF Chanda.
President Hichilema has appointed Minister of Justice, Mulambo Haimbe to act as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
