MWILA VOWS TO BLOCK “SELL-OUT” PF MPS FROM 2026 ELECTIONS
Former PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has made it clear that PF MPs who called for former President Edgar Lungu’s retirement will not be adopted in 2026, labeling them as “sell-outs.” Mwila emphasized that Lungu has no intention of retiring and will play a crucial role in the 2025 campaigns.
Mwila expressed surprise that Kasama Central MP Sibongile Mwamba is allegedly “worshipping” the enemies of the party, who were responsible for incarcerating her father. This statement comes after several PF MPs, including Kantanshi MP Anthony Mumba, Msanzala MP Elias Daka, and Chadiza MP Jonathan Daka, held a press briefing urging Lungu to retire from active politics following the Constitutional Court ruling declaring him ineligible to contest.
Mwila’s statement highlights the ongoing divisions within the PF party, with some members calling for Lungu’s retirement and others supporting his continued involvement in politics. The situation is likely to continue unfolding in the lead-up to the 2026 elections.
