Mwiinde Unleashes Unprecedented Violence in Kawambwa
UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperson, Trevor Mwiinde has gone on rampage attacking members of the Opposition in Kawambwa.
He has also ransacked Kawambwa Police Station where Tonse Alliance Spokesperson, Sean Tembo had gone to report the case of assault against him.
Police officers scampered for safety when Mwiinde’s thugs threatened to burn the police station down if they didnt produce Sean Tembo.
Mwiinde has also pledged that no members of the Opposition will be allowed to witness the ballot count.
So where is that Luapula Police Commissioner, Yuyi Mwala who is busy looking for Mumbi Phiri and Hon.Jean Chisenga?
The excess lawlessness demonstrated in this election, the registering of voters in the night, and the open complicity by ECZ to UPND schemes, requires that ECZ Chairperson, Mwangala Zaloumis, Chief Elections Officer, Mcdonald Chipenzi and Brown Kasaro resign immediately.
They have allowed ECZ to be an appendage of the ruling party.
ECZ’s reputation and integrity now lie in tatters and may not recover as we go to 2026 general elections.
Zaloumis and the Zambia Police must know that transparent and fair elections are part of the credible process of national building, peace and security. You can’t risk those virtues holding the country together over a mere by-election.
