ELIJAH MUCHIMA TO SUE UPND MEDIA FOR DEFAMATION
CIC DIRECTOR WELCOMES THE BOLD MOVE BY THE MINISTER OF HEALTH TO SUE HIM AS HE VOWS TO PROVE THAT HE IS CAPTURED AND NOT IN CHARGE OF HEALTH MINISTRY ALLOWING THE CARTEL TO DESTROY THE INSTITUTION.
Drama at Ministry of Health has gone to a whole new level where the Minister of Health Hon Dr Elijah Muchima has sort legal litigation against Mr Edward Roy Makayi Director of CIC for what he terms as unfair attacks and many things especially following yesterday’s call which is circulating on social media. Hon Muchima through his confidants with links to CIC has complained that he did not see the letter from the Secretary to the Treasury Mr Felix Nkulukusa dropping Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Administration Prof Christopher Simoonga and elevating Dr Lishimpi Kennedy in the same capacity. The letter that has shocked the political storms within UPND was met with mixed reactions that led to Mr Makayi to call the Minister and wanted to find out what it means however the conversation escalated into tempers when the Minister said he does not know anything prompting Mr Makayi to get emotional and told him that he must take charge of the Ministry because many people suffered for UPND for him to be so careless and allow other people to destroy the institution. In an interview to get a comment Mr Makayi said he is ready to face Dr Muchima in court and prove that he is a captured Minister because he has no sobber way of resolving or handling matters that are of public interest. He said even the drama at Ministry of Health was unnecessary because CIC has been a keen stakeholder in the governance issues helping out especially at information flow whenever it’s necessary. He said he can not be questioned what role he plays at Ministry of Health because affairs of every government institution affects everyone including himself (Makayi) and that there is no law that stops or prohibit him in finding out what is going on especially as a media person. He said everytime one sends information to the minister instead of processing it and digest it he opted to take to the media and blast CIC leaving the platform with no choice but to fight back ” so what is he complaining about when we are just playing his game?” He questioned..
“Ministry of Health is not the only government institution we are following or monitoring governance affairs for the minister to question our role, there is silence in many institutions thanks to CIC when they get data and inform relevant authorities they respond well and matters are attended to. Take Ministry of Energy for instance there was huge drama over fuel prices and accusations from OMCAZ towards the energy minister then (Hon Kapala) we would contact him he would respond well and help matters but for Hon Muchima he is too emotional and temperament over issues he may not even understand when we are just trying to help him. My call yesterday I am unapologetic for it I never insulted him anyone is free to replay it and listen to it and I called him because this is a minister who is on record boasting that He and He and Dr Lishimpi are a phone and sim card therefore nothing happens to Dr Lishimpi that the minister is not aware he was lying if he wasn’t then it confirms what we have been saying. This is a minister who has been having meetings with his Directors planning how to harm or sort CIC out we have all that information. Dr Lishimpi and his conducts at Ministry of Health deserves to be re-looked and we can prove this in court tracing from his role in transferring people and many things as a media we have done our homework we don’t need to be told how old we are to be affected of what is happening as Makayi and many others we suffered for UPND we are old enough to know wether someone means well for the party and government or not these people are lying to the president and we will not seat and wait for the president to act because some things are blocked from him.”. “There are so many scandals at Ministry of Health that are of public interest take ZAMMSA issue for instance, people being transferred and so on politically it’s a mess and we know this information we are very sensitive to anything seeing that letter yesterday raised questions even though it has been reviewed that it’s purely made to enhance administration of the ministry and not necessarily firing Prof Simoonga well it better be because we will not allow Prof Simoonga a noble man be replaced by a compromised person that is why I said there will be drama and I mean it without fear or something however over the letter we still contend that Dr Lishimpi is not the right person to stand in for Prof Simoonga and if the Minister thinks he can threaten us with lawsuit thinking he can silence us he is lying am ready to face him in court where huge Pandora box will be opened he will see what we have. The meetings he has been having against us for simply doing our work and many questionable things the country will know tell him Makayi and CIC are eady for you whenever you are ” he added.
Mr Makayi concluded that all this is happening because Dr Muchima as a Minister has allowed himself to be used because his predecessor was different just like many ministries today CIC is helping out in so many ways and things are okay. “This is a platform that fought PF government to the bitter end it’s very sensitive and well connected and coordinated to tell what’s good for the government and what’s not therefore people even seating to plan harm against CIC can’t dectate how we react to them” Makayi said.
