A losing UPND candidate in Njame Ward in Chirundu stormed the counting centre, beat up the officials and carried the cast ballot paper.

POLLING for the by-elections in nine wards across five provinces took place today..
The wards participating in today’s elections include Lushiba Ward in Kawambwa District, Luapula Province; Chinama Ward in Kanchibiya District, Muchinga Province; Luchinde Ward and Mulalo Ward in Nakonde District, Muchinga Province; Kaminzekezeke Ward in Mufumbwe District, North-Western Province; Mubula Ward in Choma District, Southern Province; Njame Ward in Chirundu District, Southern Province; and Liumena Ward and Mwenyi Ward in Sikongo District, Western Province.
