BREAKING: Kagame withdraws troops after SA Allegedly Threatens to Use Long Range Ballistic Missiles, Deploy Navy Seals and Commando Units
President General Kagame has issued an executive order directing all Ruwandan military forces to withdraw from all DRC border towns and regroup in the capital Kigali with immediate effect.
A letter issued by Ruwandan Prime Minister says the withdrawal is to protect the capital Kigali and critical infrastructure. But South African insiders say the retreat is a pre-emptive move to stop South Africa from deploying the full might of its military, Naval and air forces in retaliation to the 13 soldiers it lost.
Diplomatic pressure has also been mounted on Kagame from German who suspended aid, with similar calls coming from France and the US to de-escalate tensions in the Eastern Congo.
