HICHILEMA SACKS SIX SENIOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, TRANSFERS KEY GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL
President Hakainde Hichilema has fired six senior government officials including a provincial minister while three Permanent Secretaries have had their appointments terminated pending redeployment and five others transferred from one institution to another.
Those whose contracts have been terminated with immediate effect are Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe and his Permanent Secretary Henry Mukungule and Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary Robert Kamalata and Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Mighty Mumba.
Others are Government Deputy Chief Whip Gregory Nkowani and Controller of internal Audit at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning Ringo Zulu.
Those who are being redeployed are Permanent Secretaries for Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Copperbelt Province and Special Duties at Cabinet Office Josephs Akafumba, Augustine Kasongo and Mwamba Peni, respectively.
And President Hichilema has transferred Luapula province Minister Njavwa Simutowe to Muchinga Province in the same capacity while Kawambwa MP Nason Musonda has been appointed Minister for Luapula Province.
According to a statement by State House Principal Private Secretary Bradford Machila, the Head of State has also appointed nominated MP Likando Mufalali as Government Deputy Chief Whip.
And President Hichilema has appointed Mulele Mulele, Mwaka Mukubesa and Prudence Kaoma as Permanent Secretaries for Economic Management and Finance, Budget and Economic Affairs and Planning and Administration, respectively, at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning.
He has also Lazarus Mwanza, Prudence Chinama and Mathews Chilekwa as Permanent Secretaries for Copperbelt, Luapula and Muchinga provinces, respectively.
Meanwhile, the president has transferred five Permanent Secretaries with Mambo Hamaundu moving from Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to the Ministry of Defence while Norman Chipakupaku has moved from Defence to the Office of the Vice-President as DMMU National Coordinator.
Gabriel Pollen has been transferred from DMMU as National Coordinator to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development while Patrick Mucheleka and Joe Kalusa have moved from Cabinet Office to Ministry of Lands and Lusaka Province, respectively.
