HAFTAR KHALIFA PREVENTED SAIF AL-ISLAM GADDAFI FROM BEING BURIED IN THE SIRTE CITY.
The head of the media and legal team for SAID GADDAFI, AQILA DALHOUM, said that Haftar’s forces prevented SAIF from being buried in the city of SIRTE after imposing a set of conditions he described as harsh and inhumane.
In a Facebook post, Dalhoum explained that the conditions included banning any expressions of mourning, prohibiting the display of photos or any slogans associated with SAIF, and limiting the mourning period to just three days.
He added that the decision was widely rejected, noting that, following a welcoming stance from the residents of BANI WALID, it was decided that SAIF’s body would be buried in the city, where a number of his family members reside.
The GADDAFI family decided to bury SAIF in the city of BANI WALID, one of the strongholds historically known for loyalty to his father. SAADI GADDAFI, SAIF AL-ISLAM’s brother, confirmed that he would be buried in a cemetery in BANI WALID alongside his brother KHAMIS, who was k!lled in 2011 during the revolution against their father’s regime.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, ABDULSHAFI AL-JOUFI, sent an official letter to the mayor of BANI WALID, calling for urgent measures to provide the necessary logistical facilities to complete the burial procedures for SAIF AL-ISLAM MUAMMAR GADDAFI, based on a request from his family and instructions from the Prime Minister.
According to the letter, the minister stressed the need to carry out administrative and service-related procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and to oversee preparations and organize the burial process in a manner consistent with humanitarian and social considerations.
