First family donates K20,000 assorted items to orphaned baby twins
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema and the First Lady Mutinta, have donated 20,000 kwacha and assorted items to the twins of Lusaka whose mother died two weeks ago.
Representing the first family, Senior Private Secretary in the office of the First Lady, Ella Michelo says the President and his wife are humbled with the humility to name the twins after them.
Ms. Michelo says the first family sympathises with the children on the loss of their mother, and that they will be glad to meet the twins at an appropriate time.
A few days ago Diamond carried a story of the twins whose mother died shortly after giving birth at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital in Lusaka.
Since then, support has come through from a philanthropist Remmy Kangwa, Lusaka resident Mtumbi Goma and now the First family.
