ELECTION RIGGING SCHEME UNEARTHED
…as ECZ deploys Known UPND officials as Poll Staff in MWANSABOMBWE

The Socialist Party (SP) has exposed a rigging scheme by the UPND in the ongoing Kayo ward by election in Mwansabombwe district, Luapula province.
Party Chairperson for Elections Trymore Mwenda says those involved in the scheme are well known UPND cadres namely Mr Africa Mwansa, Mr Chishimba of Citrus school, Ms Lombe Ireen and Katyamba Jassino.
He has complained that the said individuals have been deployed as poll staff when they are known UPND cadres.
“We write to bring to your urgent attention that the persons stated below, deployed as poll staff in the Kayo ward by – election are well known UPND cadres, therefore, can not deliver a credible, free and fair election.” He wrote in a petition directed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
Mr. Mwenda is requesting the ECZ to remove the said suspects from the list of the poll staff.
“In an effort to maintain the integrity and credibility of the Commission, we request the Commssion to drop the said UPND cadres in promotion of free and fair elections,” he added
