Dad helped finance purchase some of my properties – Daliso Lungu
DALISO Lungu has told the Economic and Financial Crimes court that his father, former president Edgar Lungu, mainly financed the purchase and development of the seized properties, which include 69 vehicles worth over K24 million and 25 pieces of land across various locations in Zambia.
Daliso has contended that the said properties, which the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Gilbert Phiri, wants forfeited to the State, are not tainted property as they were legally acquired.
“The purchase of the motor vehicles was facilitated and financed by my father, and that, I own a filling station which is operated by Saloid Traders on lease to Total Energies at US$8,000 per month since 2018,” Daliso submitted.
