CHINGOLA NURSING STUDENT ATTEMPTS TO TAKE HER OWN LIFE AT A LODGE IN KITWE
A 28-year-old student nurse from Chingola attempted su!cide at a local lodge in Kitwe yesterday. The incident took place between 3:00 and 7:00 PM in room 133. The police, alerted by the lodge manager, forced their way into the locked room to find the unconscious victim, along with an empty wine bottle and a plate of chips.
The victim, reportedly in good health and mood earlier, had lunch with her roommates before suddenly disappearing. She later checked into the lodge and sent messages to her relatives hinting at her plans.
The police and relatives rushed her to Wusakile Mine Hospital, where she was resuscitated and is now in stable condition. Investigations into the reasons behind the attempted suicide are ongoing.
