Yesterday’s politics in today’s suit won’t heal a system still bleeding from broken promises. Let’s be clear: snapping a photo with a former PF minister—one once at the heart of a health system that left rural clinics gasping for breath—is not the revival Zambia asked for.
Yes, decentralisation is good. But the people of Luapula didn’t gather just to witness symbolic reunions—they came with questions about hospitals without medicines, youths without jobs, and farmers without fertilizers. A conversation isn’t development, and optics aren’t outcomes.
The New Dawn must remember: the Zambian people are not starstruck. They’re looking for substance, not staged moments.
