A Sincere Apology to PF: We Were Blind by President Hakainde Hichilema
To the Patriotic Front leadership in Western Province,
We, the people of Barotseland, offer our sincerest apologies for the way we treated you. We were wrong to hate and reject you, and we failed to appreciate the development you brought to our region.
During your time in power, from 2011 to 2021, you brought numerous projects to Western Province, including:
– Districts created for economic development
– Clinics and hospitals, such as the Mongu hospital
– Roads and infrastructure development
– Beautiful Mongu Police offices
– Shoprite, a major retail store
– You even gave us a Vice President, Inonge Wina. This I think you wanted to recognize us.
– A university, providing higher education opportunities for our people and many more.
We were blinded by our love for President Hakainde Hichilema and failed to recognize the good work you did for us. We counted the days until our expected messiah would bring us development, but four years down the line, it’s clear that PF’s legacy of development stands the test of time.
We realize now that we had no reason to usher so much hate towards you. We reflect on our past mistakes and acknowledge that we should have loved and worked with you to develop our land.
Once again, we apologize for our past behavior and hope that you will accept our sincerest apologies. We hope that we can learn from our mistakes and work towards a better future for Barotseland.
Please come back in 2026 so that you finish what you started. Even our Litunga is no longer respected.
They cheated us. They promised heaven on earth, but all what we see is nothing from them. Bakaise.
