A 29 YEAR OLD MAN RESCUED FROM COMMITTING SU!CIDE WITH A POT

By Boston Muvwanga

A man believed to be in his late twenties of Chipata Township of Lusaka identified as Kelvin Banda was last evening rescued by family members and community members from committing suicide.

Mr. Banda the father of 2 children was begged so hard by his family members and community members not to take his own because he had a wife and children to take care of.

Even through the effort of his family members who tried so hard to help him see the rise of the sun the following day, Mr. Banda was busy hitting his own head with a pot and screwdrivers whilst screaming let me end my life I have too much debt to pay that I can’t afford.

Mr. Banda begged his immiditate sister who held him so tight through out the process of taking his own life to an extent of not realizing that her clothes had fallen down and she was naked just to wait for him to cool down and understand his situation so that he does not take his own life.

Young people from the community populary known as junkies broke into the house and tried to beat some sense back to the head of  Mr. Banda for the foolish decision he had made but the mother could not allow them to continue pumping sense back to the head of her Favourite son with hard knocks but they preferred their own family method.

The Junkies were ushered outside by family members so that he can only remain with her mother and sister who knows how to cool him down whenever he wants to take his own life because this was his second attempt of commiting suicide.

Her sister held him tight whilst she was naked and her mother was on the side negotiating with him to preserve his life as he was her Favourite child.

After some time, Mr. Banda overpowered the mother and the sister then he started looking for anything in the house that he can use to end his life but unfortunately the family members had hiden all the dangerous utensils.

Mr. Banda only managed to find a pot  and started hitting his own head so hard with it in an attempt to take his own life.

At this point that’s when community members broke into the house and grabbed Mr. Banda and took him to the nearest police station.

But when Mr. Banda arrived at the police station, the officer in charge of Chipata Police station refused to give Mr.Banda  free accommodation and reffered him to the hospital for mental check up.
Meanwhile effort to get a comment from the Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga is underway.
