Lying to the Church

AMB. EMMANUEL MWAMBA WRITES:-

Lying to the Church

On Friday President Hakainde Hichilema hosted the Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) delegation, led by Synod Moderator Rev. Ackson Banda, at State House.

The discussions were focused on fostering collaboration between the Church and the government especially in key sectors such as education, health, and agriculture.

Minister of Education Douglas Siakalima used the opportunity to extol the benefits of free education being implemented by the UPND Government.

Secretary to Cabinet, Patrick Kangwa said there were no purges or lay-offs under President Hichilema.

Offcourse this was the biggest lie of the day as this government has conducted the most wide-spread purge of public servants.

One famous case is that of 38 senior police officers that were retired in national interest by President Hichilema.

Currently, there are over 400 civil servants, mostly senior directors and officials parked at the Public Service Management Division( PSMD).

The Public Protector was prompted to commission an official investigation as the victims are mostly from two major regions (block of the north( Luapula, Northern and Muchinga) and eastern provinces).

There should be decency. Can lies be reserved for political podiums and not abuse a meeting of Church leaders.
