PS KAWANA OFFICIALLY INVITES EMMANUEL MWAMBA TO HIS OFFICE

Today, Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana met  former Information and Media  Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba at Intercontinental Hotel.

Below are the highlights;

✅PS Kawana met Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba, a former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Media demonstrating his willingness to engage former government officials on areas of national interest regardless of their political affiliation.

✅Mr. Kawana is looking forward to a fruitful engagement with Amb Mwamba at his office this Wednesday, 20th of November, 2024.

✅He observed that his disagreements with Amb Emmanuel Mwamba on issues of governance does not establish them enemies.

✅Mr. Kawana noted that Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba is his elder brother and they usually engage with each other from time to time.

✅PS Kawana has planned to eventually engage all former Information and Media Permanent Secretaries who are still alive on matters of national interest.

✅ And Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba expressed delight of having the honour to meet Information Media Permanent Secretary Mr. Thabo Kawana and gladly accepted his invitation.

✅ Mr. Mwamba has since commended a culture of sitting high government officials inviting their predecessors saying this will ensure continuity in terms of policy implementation.

✅In another development, Amb. Mwamba expressed happiness at the launch of Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) TV saying it is a step in the right direction.

✅ The Amb.noted that Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) is a public broadcaster and should be left at that, while ZANIS should be used as a professional tool for Government communication.

✅He has urged the Ministry of Information and Media in collaboration with the Human Rights Commission to quickly  operationalise the  Access to Information Law because people have waited for the law for way too long.
