TWO CRIMINALS ASSAULT CHOMA GIRL ENROUTE TO TOILET AT NIGHT
A HORRIFIC incident has left a permanent scar in the life of a 13-year-old girl of Choma, Southern Province, who was sexually assaulted by two men.
The attack took place on Thursday night as the girl was using the toilet in her neighborhood.
For her, Thursday night was as safe as every night but it turned out to be a nightmare.
According to reports, the girl, after having super with her family members and saying her Good nights, she decided to go and use the toilet which is built outside their house before going to bed around 21:00 hours.
But before she could enter the convenient room, she was approached by two men from the same neighborhood, who called her by her name, but she ignored them.
Agitated by her ignorance, the two men reportedly charged against her and forcefully took the juvenile to a nearby house.
At that house, one of the suspects entered with the girl to molest her while the other remained manning the door, looking out for any passer by.
The two planned to take turns in defiling the minor but before the second person could take his turn in satisfying their I’ll sexual appetite, he was interrupted when his colleague alerted him that there was someone passing by.
And that was when they released the survivor and fled the scene.
After getting home, the survivor then reported the incident to her uncle, Silvester Munkombwe aged 31 who later reported the matter to Choma Central Police station through Shampande Police Post.
Southern Province Police commanding officer, Auxensio Daka said after receiving the report, police issued the survivor with a medical report and opened a docket on the matter.
“Police visited the crime scene, and the house where the victim was defiled from has since been deserted,” Daka said.
He added that as at now, Choma police officers have been tasked to find the two suspects who are currently at large.
