RE: INVITATION TO COME AND WELCOME THE HEAD OF STATE

Refer to the above subject matter.

I write to invite all Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Heads of departments and all Senior Teachers to come and welcome the Head of State on Wednesday, 21st August, 2024 at Chikola Secondary School ground, time 14:30hours,

Dear Education Minister,

As a concerned citizen, I wish to understand why the District Educational Board Secretary would issue a letter compelling headteachers, deputy headteachers, and heads of departments, who are civil servants, to leave their official duties and assemble to welcome  President Hakainde Hichilema . Such directives raise serious concerns about the appropriate use of educational staff time and resources. How does this align with their professional responsibilities and the focus on ensuring quality education in our schools?

Furthermore, it is troubling to see civil servants being instructed to participate in an event, especially one outside the scope of their work, such as welcoming the President. Is this really their job? I believe these educators should be dedicating their time to their primary roles, rather than being required to attend non-educational events without fail.
