There is better democracy and good governance here in Venezuela, Cuba and Russia and I will definitely relocate to one of these countries if Hichilema wins elections in 2026,” Fred Mmembe told students in Venezuela.
And when asked why he was not a member of the alliance of political parties under the UKA, Mmembe reiterated that zero plus zero equals zero hence there was nothing yet to join such an alliance that had zero structures on the ground.
Fred Mmembe currently in Venezuela monitoring the disputed elections with opposition riots in the streets said that country had strong democratic institutions like Cuba and Russia.
“In Africa, the only other countries with strong democracy and good governance institutions is Zimbabwe. These are strong countries because they chased away the imperialists from the western world hence we must admire them. America is one of the most dictatorial countries in the world, same as UK, France, and others in Europe,” Mmembe told the students.
Asked what he would do if Hichilema won the 2026 elections, Mmembe said he was sure of victory as he had been inspired by the countries he mentioned, but if he lost elections through rigging, he would not hesitate to relocate to Venezuela, Cuba or Russia.
And the Socialist Party President has claimed that President Hichilema and Edgar Lungu are just the same in terms of leadership. Mmembe said there was dictatorship under Edgar Lungu and there is dictatorship under President Hichilema.
“That’s why we are very reluctant to join that UKA project because the composition of characters there is basically the same as UPND,” Mmembe told the audience.
The Socialist Party leader is a great admiral of Russian President Putin, Cuban governance system and Venezuela.
