Brotherman” Apprehended Over Hate Speech and Insults Against President
The Department of Immigration, working with other defence and security agencies, has apprehended a 44-year-old Zambian national over alleged hate speech and insults directed at the President and the Presidency.
The suspect, identified as Misheck Mulubwa, is reportedly known on TikTok as “Brotherman”, operating under the handle @KabonqoKitungu5 in Kasumbalesa.
According to the Department of Immigration, Mulubwa was apprehended at about 15:30 hours on September 12, 2026, during a coordinated operation led by immigration authorities
The department says Mulubwa repeatedly used social media platforms to publish content containing insults against the President and the Presidency, as well as what it described as tribal and hate speech.
Preliminary investigations have further indicated that Mulubwa had been staying on the Democratic Republic of Congo side of the border and occasionally crossing into Zambia.
The Department of Immigration said his movements and other circumstances surrounding the matter remain subject to further investigations.
Following his apprehension, Mulubwa was transported to Lusaka, where he is expected to be formally charged in accordance with the law.
Authorities said further details would be provided as investigations continue.
