I’m a striking development, former Finance Minister Dr. Kateri Kalumba has launched a scathing critique of President Hakainde Hichilema, accusing him of presiding over a wave of abductions, killings, and assassinations in the country.
“Hakainde let the will of the people prevail, let alternative leadership take over and provide alternative government style it is a democracy,
“You are very pretentious but I what I know now is that you at the helm of these killings, abductions and strangulations and assassinations; I know that you believe so much in Satanism, you are evil and a very bad man. There don’t rig the election or else Zambians will rise and we shall take you on.” Dr Kalumba said.

Dr. Kalumba argues that the president has failed to provide the leadership Zambia needs as it approaches a crucial election. He Furthermore, he insists that the president must not undermine the democratic process and should be prepared to accept alternative leadership if the people choose a different path.
He directly challenges President Hichilema to explain the mysterious death of Melu Sadanis, the owner of Chaminuka Lodges, who was killed under unclear circumstances.
Dr. Kalumba also claims to have heard an audio recording in which the president instructs associates to cover up evidence related to these incidents, particularly linking it to the opposition’s efforts ahead of the 2026 elections.
The former finance minister, Kateri Kalumba, has accused UPnD president, Hakainde Ichiloma, of financial impropriety and having been the worst person in the world who has ripped Zambia to its core.
Hakainde Hichilema was appointed by the former president, Frederick Chiluba, in 1992 to head the Zambia Privatization Agency in liquidating over 500 prostitute companies the country was willing to offload.
During that period, Grant Thornton an accounting firm Hichilema for, was appointed as a liquidator.
At the time Hichilema was designated to lead a team of Zambian experts in the function of disposing of government assets that were running at a loss, he illegally acquired and awarded himself what was then InterContinental Hotel, which transformed into Sun International Hotel Livingstone (Avani Hotel presently), an investment which has not been investigated by authorities.
“ I know what happened in Capetown with the investment and liquidation of certain assets, late Edith NAWAKWI refused to sign, late President Edgar Lungu almost jailed you but i defended you and protected you.” Dr Katele said in a recorded video.
At the time when negotiations to privatize Zambian companies was being held in South Africa, Hakainde misled the then president of Zambia, Dr Frederick Chiluba, that other investors from South Africa had bought the company, and yet it was he himself who had offered himself the company, which today is called Avani Hotels in Livingstone.
Dr Kalumba is also senior chief Nantende Walushiba.
