ANDERSON MAZOKA’S FATHER HONOURED
The family of Juda Mazoka, father to Anderson Kambela Mazoka—the founder of the United Party for National Development (UPND)—has expressed profound gratitude following a significant gesture by Elvis Mainza, an independent parliamentary candidate for Monze Central.
Mainza, recognizing the foundational role Juda Mazoka played in nurturing the visionary who established Zambia’s ruling party, took it upon himself to erect a tombstone on Juda Mazoka’s grave located in Choobana village, west of Monze town.
Mainza said that the late Juda Mazoka deserves national appreciation, as he gave the country a son who led a political movement now governing Zambia.
He emphasized that such recognition is vital to honor those whose legacies underpin the nation’s political progress.
On behalf of the Mazoka family, Edith Mazoka conveyed heartfelt thanks to Mainza, highlighting that the family previously felt somewhat detached from the grassroots dynamics of the UPND.
She remarked that Mainza’s act has reinforced their connection to the party, suggesting it offers peace and dignity to Juda Mazoka’s memory.
