HICHILEMA IS HIDING THE MINERAL SURVEY REPORT
Concerns have been raised over President Hakainde Hichilema’s handling of the minerals survey report, with critics accusing him of refusing to make its contents public in a manner described as “very unpatriotic.”
According to these allegations, the report—regarded as a crucial document for the nation—is being treated as though it belongs exclusively to the Hichilema family rather than benefiting all Zambians.
Brian Mundubile, an opposition leader, revealed that even the Ministry of Mines has not been granted access to the report kept at the community house, effectively placing it out of reach from the very government body responsible for overseeing the country’s mining sector.
The minerals survey report is expected to offer vital insights into the nation’s resource potential, which could influence policy decisions, attract investment, and ensure equitable distribution of mining revenues.
By withholding the report from key stakeholders and the public, critics argue that the government risks undermining trust and the country’s developmental prospects.
