PRESIDENT HH TRIED TO BRIBE ME SO THAT I CAN WITHDRAW MY CANDIDATURE BUT I REFUSED- IRIS KAINGU
2026 Independent Mwandi Parliamentary Aspiring Candidate Iris Kaingu has responded and revealed that Republican President Haikaind Hichilema tried to bribe her through various means, such as job opportunities by way of being nominated to Parliament in an event he returned the Presidency after August 13th 2026, an offer she turned down.
Speaking through her Facebook live broadcast, Ms. Kaingu hinted that she was further offered by the head of State to join his national campaign team as a way of recognizing her importance while waiting for more better things after the elections. This too was declined by her for the sake of the greater good of the Constituents of Mwandi.
Meanwhile the Mwandi aspirant has stated that she feels disappointed with President Hichilema’s behaviour for allegedly attacking her candidature through a Public rally instead of giving reasons why he and his government has failed to better the lives in the Province and the District at large.
“What is more painful and a huge disappointment to me is that our Republican President decided to reveal the things we discussed privately between me and him and it was clearly agreed that it should not reach social Media, but instead it has taken him the President to commit a breach to our agreement” she said.
Iris Kaingu disclosed that President HH made several efforts in trying to “disadvantage” her by means of withdrawing her Parliamentary bid to the extent that he even telephoned by Father a former MP in the same area, former education Minister Dr. Micheal Kaingu so that she could be spoken to but her Father told Mr. Hichilema that he had nothing to say because Iris is old enough to make her own decisions.
She added that it was not urgent or necessary for the entire President to spend time speaking against her candidature while People are suffering in Zambia.
Ms. Kaingu has vowed not to withdraw her candidature stating that governance should be devoid of Politics.
According to President Hichilema Ms. Kaingu was advised to wait for another opportunity but instead she decided to go solo.
Oh my Africa!!
