A Ukrainian woman suspected of carrying out a parcel bomb attack in Monaco has been found dead in Ukraine, authorities say.
Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, had been wanted by Interpol after a parcel bomb exploded at an apartment building in Monaco on June 29, injuring three people, including two seriously.
Ukraine’s security service said her body was later found buried in a forest in the Kyiv region with gunshot wounds to the head.
Two men have been charged over her murder. Ukrainian authorities said one of them is a serving officer in the country’s military intelligence service, while the other is a former law enforcement officer.
Investigators say Berezovska entered Ukraine on July 1, two days after the Monaco attack. She was allegedly met by the suspects in the Kyiv region before she was killed.
Monaco authorities had said the suspect spent days watching the residence before the attack and was allegedly disguised as a man when the bomb was planted.
Authorities in Monaco have not officially named the victims, but local media reported that Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, his partner and his 13-year-old son were targeted.
Yermolaiev, a wealthy real estate developer, has been under Ukrainian sanctions since 2023.
Ukraine says it is cooperating with Monaco as investigations continue into the bombing and the killing of Berezovska.
