MADLANGA COMMISSION HEARS EXPLOSIVE ALLEGATIONS LINKING JULIUS MALEMA TO WHATSAPP MESSAGES, OPERATION DUDULA ARREST REQUESTS AND AN ALLEGED PLOT INVOLVING A SENIOR CRIME INTELLIGENCE OFFICER
The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has heard fresh allegations involving EFF leader Julius Malema, senior Crime Intelligence officer Major-General Feroz Khan and businessman Mohammed “Mo” Sayed. The allegations were presented as evidence before the commission and have not been tested or confirmed by the commission.
According to evidence presented, WhatsApp messages allegedly show Malema asking that information about Operation Dudula be passed to General Khan, with one message reportedly suggesting that Operation Dudula members should be arrested before planned anti-illegal immigration protests in 2021.
The commission also heard allegations that Khan allegedly used Sayed as an intermediary to communicate with Malema. In addition, evidence leaders claimed Khan may have drafted parliamentary questions for Malema to ask about former Inspector-General of Intelligence Setlhomamaru Dintwe. It is alleged these questions were intended to pressure or discredit Dintwe, although these claims remain under investigation.
Julius Malema has denied all the allegations, stating that he was not involved in any conspiracy to remove Dintwe or participate in any unlawful scheme. The commission has not reached any conclusions, and the inquiry is continuing as more evidence is being heard.
Do you believe these allegations will have any political impact on Julius Malema, or should the public wait for the commission’s final findings before drawing conclusions?
