PRESIDENT HICHILEMA URGES SERENJE TO VOTE FOR CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT
President Hakainde Hichilema has urged the people of Serenje District to vote for the UPND in the August elections, saying the district has started experiencing meaningful development following the increase in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) introduced by his administration.
Addressing a public meeting, President Hichilema said Serenje had lagged behind for many years but was now witnessing development reaching communities through enhanced CDF allocations.
He thanked residents for turning out in large numbers and expressed confidence that they would vote for continued peace, security and national development.
President Hichilema stressed the importance of national unity, describing Zambia as “one Zambia, one Nation and one people.”
The Head of State also said Serenje had previously been affected by political violence that prevented citizens from freely exercising their democratic rights, adding that his government had restored the rule of law.
He urged voters to reject a return to what he termed the “old bad days” and instead support policies aimed at sustaining national progress.
President Hichilema further pledged that his administration would continue ensuring the equitable distribution of national resources, saying increased CDF allocations had enabled development to reach communities that had long been neglected.
