NALUMANGO ADMITS THAT THE COST OF LIVING IS HIGH

Vice President Mutale Nalumango stated that it is normal for the costs of goods to increase over time, emphasizing that a reduction in prices ten years later would be unusual.

She argued that improving the cost of living is primarily linked to raising people’s incomes rather than simply lowering commodity prices.

During her appearance on Diamond TV’s Costa, she acknowledged the current high cost of living but noted that recent economic challenges have led to improvements, despite inflation figures.

Nalumango highlighted that the value of money decreases over time, making it inevitable for prices to go up.

She questioned the rationale behind increasing salaries if costs remain static and reaffirmed that the UPND government is focused on raising incomes across various sectors to mitigate the rising cost of living.
