How did such a successful President Hichilema become so desperate to start twerking for votes?
Today, President Hichilema and his UPND are singing from the PF and Edgar Lungu’s hymn book.
We have observed with regret that today President Hichilema is in such a desperate position that he needs the hand of socialites and musicians for his survival – the same bunch of so-called influencers that were with ECL in 2021. What went wrong?
President Hichilema’s embrace of everything the country didn’t like about PF is not an attempt or a goal to pursue national unity; it is a bumpy road necessitated by desperation!
Everything being normal, you can’t replace achievements such as free education, debt restructuring, bumper harvests, increased CDF, economic turnaround, peace and stability with social engineering of electorates through baiting recycled musicians and social media influencers.
Something is amiss with this Presidency!
The current quagmire President Hichilema and the UPND faces on the possibility of losing next month is real and tangible. And we understand and sympathise with their predicament.
Suddenly, HH and UPND that only a few months ago claimed there was no opposition can today ‘smell’ defeat.
President Hichilema appears vulnerable and desperate. And the usual conmen who specialize in supplying the Emperor with new clothes are in the right palace!
There is a palpable scramble for a place at the UPND high table.
In this season where political defections have become less dramatic for their predictability, it is the singers and socialites that have stolen the limelight with their endorsement of the ruling party.
And all manner of opportunists and scoundrels with social media footprint want to sit next to the HH – and that space is readily available!
The endorsements are flowing thick and fast, making it hard to keep track of the rapidity.
Save for respected industry captains like Danny Kaya, Nasty D, 2Wice Chef 187, MC Wabwino and Mathew Tembo among others who have preserved their dignity through various regimes, today, the UPND has on board almost every soul of the entertainment industry that has prostituted their trade.
We thought HH, for all his exposure and education, would not be susceptible to these traditional manipulative ruling parties going through in this season, but nay!
It could appear the UPND were quietly envying everything the PF was doing while in power.
Which singer was with Edgar Lungu who is not with HH today? Busy belting out meaningless songs that hardly leave any impact.
The UPND gravy train – Yo Maps, unrepentant JK, Slap Dee, Mozegator, Kayombo, Drimz and some other nondescript soloists who have read survival manuscripts are here. The same vessel of disaster that escorted late President Lungu to his well-deserved loss in 2021 is sailing smoothly again, for another possible epic disaster!
Even once upon a time PF prima donna in Mutale Mwanza is now red! Just how? We are just wondering what UPND is waiting for to include David Kazadi and Mwaka Halwiindi to the list of high performers in their profile.
By the way, just half a song by some nondescript artiste for Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu sent the entire UPND machinery and support cast into panic mode before they unleashed the might of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA).
But since the ‘moozishans’ are Zambians, let them cash-in on this opportunity.
After all, those that did the hard work in the lean years of the UPND like Cavman, Orga Family and Mphande are still shunted ‘ku wire’ while the smarter ones that have conveniently traded their green DNA for red and are minting big.
We still believe there is something that has gone seriously wrong in the UPND as a ruling party and this is for ordinary UPND members to introspect?

How does a President who reinstates 2 million pupils in school and also provide them with food be needing Aunty Milly or Ivanka Bianca to sell his story?
How does a President who introduces meal allowances and expands it need to be twerking lousily for votes?
How does a President who ends cadreism be needing help from Miles and Nevers Mumba? The same Miles and Nevers the world knows for their true colours?
