HH TAKES MINGALATO TO STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY, ASKS THE INSTITUTION TO CENSOR SISHUWA

President Hichilema is now using his hardcore cadres to launch complaints against academic Dr Sishuwa, one of his main critics, to Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
Fearful of international backlash if the government openly pursued Sishuwa as the PF tried to do before the 2021 election, HH believes that using cadres to protest against the academic to his employers is the best way to conceal the involvement of the Zambian government behind these anti-free expression manoeuvres against a leading government critic. Yesterday , nearly all UPND online platforms dedicated their pages to attacking Sishuwa after he said HH is losing the August election!

Masheke Akashambatwa, one of the well known UPND cadres (just check the posts on his Facebook page), is asking Stellenbosch University to censor Dr Sishuwa and then denying he is asking that. A friend of Masheke disclosed that HH asked several UPND cadres to write letters of protest to Stellenbosch University as well as Harvard University to get the two institutions to either censor or dismiss Dr Sishuwa.
He hasn’t a clue about how universities work in free countries! He doesn’t know that other countries uphold academic freedom.
Moreover the South African constitution is one of the best on the continent, if not the world. In South Africa, people freely criticise Cyril Ramaphosa and even insult him without going to prison. In Zambia, to criticise HH, one has to be outside the country! Those who criticise him from within are in jail.
To HH and UPND cadres, please leave Dr Sishuwa alone. He’s a patriot who has fought for Zambia acrosss different administrations.
