LUSAKA, 15th June, 2026,
Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, the former Minister of Health who served in the Patriotic Front (PF) administration of the late President Edgar Lungu, has had a court-ordered writ of recovery executed against him over an outstanding K449,000 arising from a vehicle transaction dispute.
The writ was enforced today, June 15, 2026, at his residence in Eureka Park following a court judgment in favour of Lusaka businessman Mr. L.J. Daka of New Kasama.
Court records show the dispute began in November 2025, when Dr. Chilufya agreed to purchase a 2022 Nissan Navara for K850,000, payable within three weeks. However, only K401,000 was paid, leaving a balance of K449,000.
After the default, Mr. Daka took the matter to court and obtained judgment in his favour, which led to the issuance of a writ of recovery now executed through court enforcement procedures.
Mr. Daka stated that the transaction was clear from the outset but was not fully honoured. “The balance remained unpaid despite commitments,” he said.
He added that efforts to resolve the matter amicably failed, prompting legal action to recover the outstanding amount.
Court documents further indicate that service of court processes faced procedural delays during the case.
The matter also made reference in court filings to the vehicle being used as security in a separate financial arrangement involving a third-party lender.
At the time of publication and during execution of the writ, Dr. Chilufya was not available for comment.
