RELEASE THE LIST FOR THE VOTE ON BILL 7
Former Attorney General Musa Mwenya, SC, has called for the National Assembly to publish the division list for the vote on Constitution Amendment Bill Number 7.
His request follows President Hakainde Hichilema’s announcement that four UPND Members of Parliament voted against the bill, raising concerns about the vote’s unanimity.
Mwenya emphasized the importance of transparency, noting that under the Standing Orders, a division list should be published after every vote, detailing how each MP voted.
He expressed his desire to know the specifics of the voting and questioned the absence of this information regarding Bill 7.
Urging Parliament to release the voting records, Mwenya highlighted the necessity for the public to understand how their elected representatives voted on significant constitutional reforms.
