MUNDUBILE AND MAKEBI FORCED TO LEAVE CHIPATA
The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance’s presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, accompanied by his running mate, Counsel Makebi Zulu, was abruptly forced to leave Chipata under escort from State Police.
Authorities ordered them to return to Lusaka without delay, disrupting what was to be a pivotal gathering of their supporters.
Earlier, people had assembled at the Protea Hotel in Chipata for an indoor meeting to receive party updates, but many attendees were arrested during the event.
Efforts to secure their release are currently underway, with State Counsel George Chisanga present at Chipata Police Station advocating on their behalf.
This sudden intervention unfolds amid the solemn occasion of Chief Mpezeni IV’s burial, highlighting the tense political climate surrounding the 2026 electoral race.
As the most popular ticket duo of the moment, these developments cast a spotlight on how political activities are being managed locally.
